Being a student can be hard. Exams, studying, and trying to achieve a somewhat balanced life can be challenging. Adding the fact that you don’t make much money, if any at all, means that actually doing fun stuff can be quite the challenge. Here are some ways that YOU can make a bit of extra money. These may not pay your rent but hopefully, they get you an extra few pints on a night out. We’re easily pleased.
1 Freelance
If you are a hard-working student, you will most definitely have some skills that you can use to make some extra Euros. Getting some freelance work is made easier with freelance websites where you can see jobs that people want to be done and you can simply apply if interested. From writing to social media management, we are sure you will be able to find some extra work with freelancing. It may not pay the best at first, but freelancing is also a great way to get some experience before you leave college. Employers will love the fact that you showed initiative to work in your area of interest. They don’t have to know your real motive behind it!
2 Sell Unwanted Items
Like most of us, you probably have a lot of junk lying around in your room that you never use. You would be amazed at the stuff people will pay good money for. One man’s junk and all that… You can sell clothes, tech devices, furniture, anything. If you are not using it, you might as well sell it. Selling is easy. Place a free ad up on your local Facebook buy and sell pages or try DoneDeal for more expensive items and you could soon have cold hard cash money in hand.
3 Teach Computer Skills
Believe it or not, there are still people who don’t know how to send an email. If you were born in within the last 30 years you will most likely have a pretty good understanding of how various aspects of technology work. This is a skill that you can use to make some extra money by teaching the older generation about the mystical power of the internet.
4 Get Paid To Get Fit
Ireland may be a bit slower to adopt the on-demand delivery market, but we are fast catching up. Food delivery services such as Deliveroo mean that you can get paid to ride a bike and deliver delicious food to customers. The great thing about this job is that you work when you want and where you want. A few hours after college during dinner rush hour could add significant funds to your dwindling bank account.
5 Babysit
Ah, the classic student job. Babysitting is possibly one of the easiest jobs that you can pick up during college. We all know someone who has a child that they want to get away from for a night. That is where you come in. Get paid to sit on the couch and eat their food! Of course, babysitting is a serious responsibility but once you build a relationship it can be an easy way to make extra money.
